History
Cleo Parker Robinson Dance began as a grass-roots organization in 1970. It is now a 501 (c) (3) multi-cultural performing arts organization in Denver, Colorado with a long history of serving the needs of the community. Founded with the belief that the language of dance transcends the boundaries of culture, class and age, this institution is committed to bringing dance into the lives of many diverse people. CPRD is composed of a professional modern dance ensemble, year-round dance school, 300 seat theatre, in-school lecture demonstration series, international summer dance institute and outreach program for at-risk youth. In 1999, CPRD became an affiliate of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
Founder and Executive Artistic Director, Cleo Parker Robinson
Cleo has received numerous awards and honors through the years. Appointed by former President Clinton, Dr. Parker Robinson has served on the National Council on the Arts, and she continues to be a leader and staunch advocate for cultural arts education.
The Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble
Our ensemble is a 12-member professional dance company that tours throughout the nation and has served as Cultural Ambassadors abroad performing in more than 20 countries.
The Cleo Parker Robinson Dance School
Our School is a year-round professional training facility that is a vital part of the arts community employing more than 50 independent artists.

The International Summer Dance Institute

AYE
This program is a 26-week cultural enrichment/academic collaborative program between CPRD and the Math Literacy Project that offers workshops for inner city youths. In 2000, CPRD received the Coming Up Taller Award by the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities.
Season of Schools, Healing Power of Art
SOS is a lecture/demonstration program that the CPRD Ensemble presents for K-12 public and private schools throughout the year.
