A Summer of Dance, A World of Perspective

The International Summer Dance Institute (ISDI) offers seven weeks of dance and theatre instruction for students ages three through pre-professional and professional adults. With programs for all skill levels, ISDI combines technical training with cultural education and creative exploration, led by internationally acclaimed teaching artists from across the country and around the world.

Pre-Professional/ Professional Weeks

Refine your technique, expand your artistry, and grow your confidence in a supportive and challenging environment. Dancers will strengthen foundational skills, and explore expressive movement through high quality training with renowned teaching artists. Performance opportunities available.

Housing Assistance for Out-of-State Dancers

We offer a limited number of housing placements for out-of state-dancers through our trusted host family program. Each host family is carefully vetted and is a valued member of our community, providing a safe and supportive home environment during your stay.

Host Family Requirements

  • Provide a clean, safe, and nurturing environment.
  • Provide the dancer with reasonable house use and amenities, including blankets, linens, towels, access to bathroom and laundry facilities, and a bed.
  • Ability and willingness for all adults in the home to pass a background check and complete abuse prevention training.
  • Ideal host families will host two dancers, as that tends to be best for dancers and host families alike.

Global Children’s Weeks

Students learn over a dozen dance genres through cultural movement, including global activities, crafts, and daily performances. Past genres have included Hip Hop, Capoeira, Celtic Polynesian, West African, Jazz, Hula, Modern, South Korean, Flamenco, Ballet, Mexican Folklorico, East Indian, and more!

Harambee: “let’s unite.” Harambee is our daily morning gathering, where all groups come together to start the day with an uplifting welcome led by one of our teaching artists.

Pamoja: “together.” Pamoja is our end-of-day gathering, where all groups come together to share and celebrate what they’ve learned throughout the day. Parents are encouraged to join!

Youth Intensive

For young dancers ages 9-13 who would like to seriously advance and expand upon their dance training. Learn from world renowned teaching artists to take the next step in your training.

Introductory Youth Intensive

A two-week introductory intensive for dancers ages 11–18. Focused on foundational technique, confidence, and creativity in a welcoming, supportive environment. No prior dance experience required.

This year’s STREAM camp offers two tracks. 

1. Theatre tech and stage production:
For students interested in the behind the scenes of how shows run.

2. Musical theater performance: For students who love singing, acting, and dancing.

Perform it or power it. Two tracks. One final show.
