In partnership with the Mexican Consulate, CPRD is proud to partner on this exhibition.  More than 40 images of cultural history are being curated by Stan Obert, CPRD’s principal photographer. The photo exhibit is part of the 2018 Cinco de Mayo holiday in Denver and celebrates 125 years of history between Colorado and Mexico.
Opens May 4, closes June 30th in the CPRD Theatre Lobby
Viewing times available during any performance, or by arrangement with CPRD.
The archival photos are from a collection at the Consulate de México in Denver, the Ballet Folklórico de México, and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. Three generations of dance history blending American/Afro-Mestizo/Mexican culture developed with historic collaborations between the two countries. Katharine Dunham, Alvin Ailey, Amalia Hernandez, Viviana Basanta (daughter of Hernández), and Cleo Parker Robinson have spanned history and culture to create new works.
