Let’s Get Free
“We are going to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery, because whilst others might free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind.” Marcus Garvey
Honorable Disorder tells the story of DeShawn Foster, a native of Denver’s Five Points neighborhood and a veteran from Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following the loss of his commanding officer and father figure, DeShawn struggles to hold on to the life lessons he was taught in the military and his “Soldier’s Creed.” The only other surviving platoon member is DeShawn’s friend Justin, who has given up on society, the government and their shared creed. Also, part of this fascinating and poignant story is DeShawn’s mother, her brother (a former featherweight boxer) and their new neighbor, Samantha, who hopes to use DeShawn’s story as her own motivation to transform her career and to fulfill her life’s purpose.
For every sold-out show, we will donate $100 to the Art of War Project: To inspire hope and contribute to the health and wellbeing of American veterans dealing with PTSD and other barriers related to military service.
